It’s going to be an interesting election year no matter who you are. However, for the follower of Jesus who’s trying to figure out how their faith should influence their vote, it is particularly difficult. I mean, can a Christian vote for a candidate who belongs to an overtly anti-Christian religious sect (Mormonism)? Can a Christian vote for a candidate who is pro-gay marriage and abortion (Guiliani)? Should a Christian vote for the former Southern Baptist preacher who seems to show some troubling signs of where the role of faith ends and the purpose of government begins (Huckabee)?
Interesting questions. For many, there is no clear-cut, “if you’re a Christian you gotta vote for this dude or dudette.” Which, some would argue is a good thing.
Take a look at this link. It is designed to figure out the best candidate for you, based on your stance on all of the hot-button political / moral issues of the day.
Just for the record, it said that Duncan Hunter is my man. [pause] Who in the heck is he?

I matched Obama, but that’s only because Oprah has brainwashed me into submission.

I matched Obama, too. And you know what else, I think I should go see what else Oprah is supporting these days, I haven’t heard enough about her in a few days! *laughs*

I matched Romney (surprise, surprise…). I guess I’ll re-read that little blue book…
