Pastors versus porn Unsurprized by Spitzer…
Mar 04

That’s right, friends: yours truly went dancing at the Texas primaries this morning.  Take a look at the video below for a look at how it all went down.  And trust me, it is incredibly thrilling.  Well, it would have been - had I not gotten shouted down by some dude wearing an “I Voted” sticker.

Like I said, part of being a good Christian equals being a good citizen - whether or not that equals being a Democrat or a Republican, that’s a topic for another post.

    Let’s talk voting philosophy…
I think many of us (or at least the people that never analyzed the concept) think voting works this simple way: a) pick what you want, then b) vote for it. But, Matt brings up a good point… when the thing we want has already won its part of the event / process… it seems we should then change the way we vote. A) pick what we want, b) oh, it’s already going strong, c) vote for the item that will least likely beat my choice later. That seems to work… I think.

On a personal note, I think Matt has a deep rooted issue with voting!
This is not the first time he’s manipulated the voting process  (big smiles)

PS: the video was great… I’d vote it’s my favorite video I watched this week.

I am glad to know that we are not the only ones who participated in this strategy. Although our intent was not that we believe she is beatable, as much as, if we do have to live in a democratic lead world for the next four years that at least she is the better choice. I am not a McCain fan, not at all, and honestly there was not a candidate left in the race that I felt compelled to support, so I voted for the best choice, given all of the information available, but I will vote the party line in November, as I am a good conservative.

As for a weird feeling - I agree… It was very emotional for me… and as I found out later, for my husband as well.

    Matt,
You are so bold, my friend, you’re IT as far as I’m concerned. I’m with you as far as voting for the one that lines up with what I believe, but the choices are really spooky this time around (my first president vote was for Reagan…boy have times changed and I know, I’m REALLY old). Billary turns my stomach, but lately I’ve been getting some pretty disturbing emails from people about Obama’s background and his REAL beliefs. I know he’s a great speaker and holds his own with Hillary, but check out the beliefs at the church he attends and his pastor’s beliefs…like I said before, spooky. It’s time to fall on our knees and plead for guidance. This election looks like a lose-lose situation - but God still reigns and I’m trusting in Him.

    Hey Matt,
I so thought it was weird voting all Demo this time around too. It felt like i was doing something wrong.. like i was stealing..lol! But i am still lost on the whole Mrs. Cliton and Obama thingy! Ive heard from both sides of my family (church and other)that i should vote for the other one. Im very old fastioned and never want to see a woman as president. Not that women arent smart enough. I would jus…. not gonna go there! Anywho… Voteing is so scarey anyway! But the whole Clinton family (if thats what its called) scared the blankblank out of me. Why does life have to be so hard. Why cant we just stand up and say.. “Hey you bite hard bread! Get down from there. What do you think your doing! If you try to do anthing like that again, ill beat you with my rolled up newspaper..” kinda like a dog.. (not that i ever do that.. no never! seriously).
    Anyways… God Bless Us!!!
    Thanks for your little tidbit.
    HUGS,
