Waiting for the cable guy… On the first day of vacation…
Jul 04

A few weeks ago Lisa and I dropped the kid with family and headed to New York City.  It was the third trip to the Big Apple for both of us but by far the best.  The highlight?  Attending a taping of the Late Show.  Regis was the guest and the incredible Death Cab for Cutie the band.

Weirdest moment?  Waiting for an elevator with Chris Hanson - the dude who catches freaks on Dateline.

Below is a sampling of our 3 day adventure in just 90 seconds. Enjoy.

I love NYC. (no pun intended) I was able to visit the city about 3 times with Colleen in college. She went the Concordia Bronxville (the black sheep of the concordias), a suburb by White Plains and Yonkers. We would always go into the city. And while Colleen has more experience with the city, I have to say it’s a fun city for me. Lots of energy. I’m glad you had a good time.

Did you find Times Square completely overwhelming sensory-wise? I couldn’t take it for more than an hour. Central Park was, by far, the most relaxing. (See our blog for our thoughts on NYC, filmed in Central Park.) I highly recommend taking a vacation to Brooklyn. It was my favorite park of being in NYC, despite the fact that we stayed with my cousin in Bedford-Stuyvesant, which was, um, interesting. (Spike Lee and Chris Rock are from Bed Stuy.) :-)
