There are a number of reasons as to why I haven’t posted in the last several days. Chief amongst them is tooth pain. It started as a mild aching. It then grew to a throbbing and has now become a full on tidal wave of intense pain.
Right now said pain is numbed thanks to the help of class II narcotics. And while some would argue against posting things on the web while under the influence of pain medication, I am not among them.
Am I alone in believing tooth pain to be far more distracting and bothersome than almost any other type of pain one can experience? Save, of course the loss of a limb or childbirth. Those are pretty distracting. I am shuddering at the thought of writing a sermon tomorrow while nursing 3 bad teeth and downing powerful medication. Would it be as bad if I were dealing with a broken toe? I doubt it. On the flipside it could make for a very interesting Sunday for those at CrossPoint. That is, assuming we survive the hurricane and make it to the weekend.
Okay, on second thought maybe it wasn’t a good idea to post. Prayers are appreciated.

Update: Turns out I needed a root canal. Fun. Thankfully we found a doc that was willing to do it with a hurricane impending. Praise Jesus.

Drugs and sermon writing! Almost as good of a combination as beer and sermon writing!
